"Plattenbau takes you to the basement of your soul, drains the swamp of the collective unconscious and presses it into symmetrical shapes, easily digestible for the modern consumer. They are NOT, as some have claimed, a cult or a corporation, nor are they nihilists. They are 4 international individuals who met in Berlin, Germany and bonded over punk records, arthouse cinema and the occult.
Perhaps best summed up in their company slogan “Tight, loose and evil™” their sound ranges from noise rock to new wave with arrangements akin to krautrock and even techno - owing their influences as much to the clubs as to guitar music. Despite this, all their songs have a distinctly pop element of catchy hook lines and tight arrangements. “I guess it’s a rock band” drawls Lloyd, when asked the nth time to describe genre. “It sounds a bit like the soundtrack to a German VHS horror movie from the early 90s, including commercial breaks.” The Korg M1, a mainstay of 90s series and commercial soundtracks, makes up a heavy portion of the sound with glistening chorus strings and paranoid voice pads, while Brandon Walsh’s robotic drums and Sally Brown’s intricate jangly basslines form the foundations for Lewis Lloyd’s dark baritone vocals and Jesper Munk’s mystical noise guitars.
Plattenbau [commie block in German] like all of us, was brought up in a box, and is trying to make sense of the world in the 21st century. Their ultimate aim and purpose is to identify the cracks in the 4-walled concept of modern society and bust it open.
In 2022, Plattenbau released their second album “Shape / Shifting” on Oliver Ackermann’s (A Place To Bury Strangers/Death By Audio) label Dedstrange, joining APTBS on a roster with fellow Berlin punks Jealous and Data Animal. They played a sold out release show at Haus der Statistik, Berlin, supported APTBS for 12 shows of their European tour and went on to play EU Headline shows and festivals (including Fusion Festival and Waves Vienna). Plattenbau have started 2023 with a number of live shows including supporting APTBS again in both Berlin and New York City, and performances at the SXSW and New Colossus festivals. “Net Prophet”, the band’s 3rd studio record, releases September 8th 2023 on Dedstrange."

"ERRORR's debut album Self Destruct was released in 2023 via Anomic Records with an exclusive Fuzz Club edition. Since then the band has been restlessly touring through out Europe, incuding support shows for The Brian Jonestown Massacre & A Place To Bury Strangers.
The characteristic sound of the four-piece is defined by loud guitars and punchy fuzz bass supported by catchy drum beats. All those elements converge into a wall of sound that makes screaming 'noise', a pop record.
The band was founded by Leonard Kaage, who is the guitar player and producer of The Underground Youth and has worked with bands like The Blue Angel Lounge, Tess Parks & Anton Newcombe, to mention a few. He was later on joined by Nick Mangione on Bass and Olga Karatzioti-B. (Art Brut/ Gloria de Oliveira) on guitar.
ERRORR are one of the most compelling new acts in the contemporary underground scene and brings an unadulterated crassness to the table that hasn't been seen in a while. Their live shows are incredibly energetic and given the chance, a must-catch live.
Press Quotes
„ERRORR has been called iconic and people gather around to see them play, and after a show like tonight it is obvious why. They know their stuff, they know how to make noisy post-rock. They know how to entertain a crowd. They know how to make music. And ain't that all that matters?“ -klenk.nl
„I saw them play on New Year's Eve. His group is one to watch.“ Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) on a Shindig!Magazine Interview
ABOUT THE DEBUT ALBUM SELF DESTRUCT
"When I started to write this album, our first album, it naturally started where I started. On an acoustic guitar in my bedroom. The songs are simple - vers, chorus, 1, 2, 3, 4, let's go. When I wrote this album I had a revival of a lot of music that has been with me my whole adult life. Stuff from the early 90's and some punk stuff that I haven't revisited in a long time."
The record was mixed in Leonards's basement studio as well as in Gothenburg's Svenska Grammofonstudion, one of the most prestigious music studios in the north of Europe run by Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm who is known for The Soundtrack of Our Lives. The master was done by Frederic Kevorkian who has mastered for a plethora of artists like The White Stripes, Ryan Adams, Beyonce, Iggy Pop and many more.
Despite the abundance of seasoned industry veterans involved in the making of ERRORR's debut album the band wanted to maintain their signature down-and-dirty grittiness and not rely too heavily on, as Leonard put it: "too many effects or production tricks." thus maintaining a certain rawness so integral to their style. At times perhaps even too raw: "the guitar feedback was screaming so loud that it made me laugh. It was just so fucked up. In the end, I decided to polish it off a bit to make it a bit more listener-friendly.
Lyrically, Leonard often reflects on life in modern western society. Without necessarily being political, he shows disbelief in authorities and turns that anger into high-energy rock songs. That's not to say the lyrical content of ERRORR's songs is pure rage, on the contrary, the songs have an immense emotional depth and vulnerability to them that sets them aside from any other run-of-the-mill 'loud band'. There is a frustration with ones surroundings and injustices as well as a lust and love for life, people and making music. Errorr offers an alternative to the mainstream and invites the listener to a new wave of noise-rock.
About his writing process Leonard says:
"Unfortunately I have witnessed many people close to me falling deep in self-destructive behaviors, like drug abuse or mental issues. Some of the darker parts of this record are about that but all in all, I don't think it's only a dark record. I had a lot of fun writing and recording it and expressing those negative feelings with sounds and lyrics can be very healing - a way to turn negativity into something positive. Self-destruct to reconstruct to construct sort of. There is definitely a restless frustration in me that is channeled through these songs.
ERRORR band are one of the most compelling new acts in the contemporary underground scene and brings an unadulterated crassness to the table that hasn't been seen in a while. Their live shows are incredibly energetic and given the opportunity, a must-catch. With their debut Album Self Destruct they have managed to capture the raw energy of a packed concert and put it on a 12-inch disc that was be released in three colors: RED - WHITE - BLUE."
